چکیده
Objective: To evaluate vertigo control and auditory rescue in patients with Meniere's disease treated intratympanic Gentamicin Dexamethasone.
Study Design: Randomized Control Trial (Clinical Trials. gov Identifier: NCT05355610).Place Duration of Study: ENT Departments CMH Quetta Benazir Bhutto Hospital Rawalpindi Pakistan from Apr 2020 to Mar 2022.
Methodology: Ninety-three cases unilateral meeting the inclusion criteria were intratym-panic Dexamethasone. Pre post-treatment was assessed on Vestibular Deficit Index. Speech discrimination scores for impact also recorded pre post-treatment.
Results: In cases, there a statistically significant improvement Index (with p-value 0.001). Although all had reduced speech score, it not (p value=0.08).
Conclusion: vestibular symptoms can be achieved Gentamicin, at same time, system rescued

Reliability of the vestibular evoked myogenic potential test in assessing intratympanic gentamicin therapy in Meniere's disease.
CONCLUSIONS The results of this preliminary study demonstrate that with regard to determining the efficacy of intratympanic (IT) gentamicin treatment in patients with Meniere's disease, the reliability of testing for vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (VEMPs) is comparable to that of caloric tests. Compared with caloric tests, VEMP measurements are more comfortable and take less time. The re...
متن کاملVestibular nerve section versus intratympanic gentamicin for Meniere's disease.
OBJECTIVES/HYPOTHESIS Vestibular nerve section and transtympanic gentamicin administration are procedures with proven efficacy in the treatment of vertigo associated with Meniere's disease refractory to medical management. Hearing loss is a known complication of each of these procedures; however, there has not been a report of hearing results of both treatments from a single institution. STUD...

background chronic vestibular dysfunction is a frustrating problem in the elderly and can have a tremendous impact on their life, but only a few studies are available. vestibular rehabilitation therapy (vrt) is an important therapeutic option for the neuro-otologist in treating patients with significant balance deficits. objectives the purpose of this study was to assess the effect of vestibula...
متن کاملEffects of Vestibular Rehabilitation Interventions in the Elderly with Chronic Unilateral Vestibular Hypofunction
Introduction: Although vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) methods are relatively popular in treating patients with body balance deficits of vestibular origin, only limited studies have been conducted into customized exercises for unilateral vestibular hypofunction (UVH). Furthermore, very little evidence is available on the outcomes of VRT in the elderly population with chronic UVH. Materi...

A customised vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) programme is an important treatment modality in patients with vestibular dysfunction resulting in motion-provoked vertigo, oscillopsia (gaze instability), disequilibrium and gait disturbances. We discuss in this paper the patient selection criteria for VRT, rehabilitation strategies for unilateral and bilateral vestibular deficits, and some o...
